Craft Details

One of the most widespread techniques used for fabric decoration, hand block printing has been practiced by extremely skilful artisans for centuries in India. This remarkable traditional craft of fabric printing involves the use of engraved wooden blocks, with separate blocks for each colour pressed against fabric with great precision to create striking patterns. Examples of this very fine block printing go back centuries.
