Description
A dense Ajrakh print in small overlapping dots covers this slub cotton top, giving the surface a gentle, uneven texture. Cut in a regular fit with a round neck, half sleeves and a curved hem, it sits easy through the body without pulling at the shoulder. The slub weave adds a bit of character to the plain, everyday silhouette. Team it with the light-coloured straight pants you already own and flat sandals for a simple day at work.
Craft Details
A unique resist printing technique, Ajrakh uses natural dyes to create intricate patterns with multiple overlays of colour. Considered to be one of the most demanding hand block-print techniques in the world, the traditional colours found in this thirteen step process include jewel tones of red, indigo, black and white. This craft has its roots in Kutch, Barmer and Sindh.
