Description
For busy days, this cotton kurta set gives enough room to move while still looking put together. The kurta falls to the knee. The straps keep the neckline open, and the surface shows small patterns across. It feels light. The pants sit easy at the waist and do not restrict movement. The dupatta stays simple. Wear it with flat sandals for everyday use without effort.
Craft Details
Kalam' meaning pen and 'kari' meaning art, Kalamkari literally translates to 'pen craft' created using natural pens such as bamboo. The motifs that adorn the fabric focus on flora, fauna and human forms. This art form is practised in the Sri Kalahasti district of Andhra Pradesh. Another form of Kalamkari coming from the coastal town of Machiliptanam in Andhra Pradesh mostly uses hand blocks for printing.
